Something my family enjoys on nights and weekends is to sit down at the dining room table and play a game of some sort. As we played one of those games this weekend it dawned on me that it might be a fun topic to see what "Railroad" games people are playing with their friends and family. Who knowns, you might find something get posted that you would like to add to your game closet. If you see a game of interest that someone posts and want to learn more about it just post your question(s) to learn more about that game. I will get this started shorty by posting those that I have in my game closet. :boy_hug: ___ :girl_hug: | |
I have a trivia game called "Loose Caboose" or something like that. Though, my favorite game is to hide in my train room in peace and quiet and ignore the wife. She doesn't like to play that game, unless she's mad at me:embarassed:
This is one GREAT Board Game!!!!!!! I can't tell you how many time my wife and I have sat down and played to 2 Player rules of this game as well as the 3-5 player rules with family and friends.
When I was in high school I used to play the original Railroad Tycoon on my computer... in stunning four color graphics. Adam
By far my favorite game as well! Train Room, Car, Kitchen, watching a movie or Football are all great locations for this game as well. Warning Romantic Dinners and when the inlaws are around are not! :tb-biggrin:
I am currently playing RR Tycon III for the second time SHHHH I frequently play Train Dispatcher 2 at work. You can load the free ware onto a simple jump-drive and no one knows the better.
Ticket to Ride - 1912 Exspansion Pack More variations to our family game night RR games has come out...
Ticket to Ride is excellent. not played all the variants but it has such a simple mechanic, quick to pick up and quick to play. Silverton though is my favourite, love that game.
Switching puzzles Thought I'd pipe up with a link to some challenging switching puzzles (Inglenook / timesaver): http://RRpuzzles.com
I've recently started doing MSTS. But not just stock. I was ashamed of Microsoft and Kuju's lack of effort. So I've been using Payware, by far my favorite route is from Streamlines Corporation: The BNSF Scenic Sub. This is the Cascade Tunnel route. While it's designed for modern BNSF..... Great Northern and BN Equipment fits at home here.
Is Express the one with the Europe board with it? If not, I'll have to reccomend one. Otherwise Yeah, I've done Train Sim 2&3, I'm no goodbut layin impossible tracks (Washington to LA mainline sttraight track--> WHOOOSHHH is fun. When I get this laptop working again I'l put MSTS back on too. I've found some nice freeware stuff on trainsim.com . I also reccomend looking up the ChirisTrains Jet train, it's a fun little gimmick.
I spent many hours playing Railroad Tycoon, and for awhile I was playing MSTS with the Milwaukee Road Rocky Mountain Division add on. It's cool to run a Little Joe from Harlowton to Avery.
