Hi, guys! Newbie to DCC here, currently running a Digitrax Zephyr Express. I am hoping someone out there can help me avoid an unnecessary purchase. Here the set-up: Two trains (let's call them #21 and #22) running on a relatively small layout. I acquire train #21 on the Zephyr Express and start it on its way. I release #21, acquire #22, and start it on its way. I now need to blow the horn for each of these trains as they approach different grade crossings. I blow the horn for #22 (which is still active), release #22 from the throttle, acquire #21, blow the horn for #21. Each of these steps requires multiple buttons to be pushed, unless I am missing something completely. Now here's the question: Since the DT 602 is supposed to be able to control two trains at once (based on Digitrax description and the fact that there are two speed control knobs), is there a quick way to switch between the two trains to use the function keys for each? Essentially, does the DT 602 make this possible: blow horn on #21, press some sort of toggle between left and right throttle, blow horn for #22, etc.?
Yes, there is a button that swaps the "focus" loco, which is the one that the function keys control. It's the B "soft" key, with "L<=>R" over it.
You can use the toggle button, I think it's B as Robert pointed out or simply press the throttle knob or move it slightly to activate that throttle/train. Once you get a throttle you will see how easy it is.
Just put a video up showing the $50 WiTcontroller throttle in a similar situation. You can click ( HERE ) or on the image above to view it. Sumner
