Had the need to travel through Medora again, and those gons were still there, so I took the time to walk closer and even caught a train! There's water dripping out of this one! And here's the video: On the way to Medora, had the 'happy accident' catching this guy at Sentinel Butte, The GE was smoking it up some, but the MAC was looking good! Here's the video:
The local is tied down for the day after working all Friday and into Sat morning, And a rare for here V-train, with some fallen flags in the makeup, Followed by a less rare coal train, showing off my new NP Beanery hat from the Livingston Depot Beanery,
And not exactly rail related, but still fun, some pelicans were hovering over the Yellowstone, While the buff just didn't care because the sun was warm and the breeze was slight,
Yesterday was a rich morning for catching trains! I parked the old '65 on a slope here, handbrake! And then got 'interrupted' at church...
It is that time of year when the stupid come here to become Bison playtoys. I saw a video this past week which was just absolutely stunning. The fool lived....
Tonite I had to go out to let a tenant into their apartment, so there was an opportunity to catch a train, maybe. Yup! And what a train! A warbonnet leads a beat up H1 -9 on a manifest under a nearly full moon! In the first video, the crew is just pulling up 1 track while waiting for a 'highball.' Then, they are cleared to go! The camera struggles in the dark, but it was too good a train to skip!
This blade train sat in the yard all day yesterday, and I was sure hoping to catch it leaving town. God smiled on my silliness and we were able to catch it leaving westbound! And got happily trapped at the east end crossing on our way home,
A red sunrise and a coal train seemed like a good shot. It got better when it turned out to be a doubled up train with 8 total units!
It sure was a fun video to get! And besides the red sunrise, the LONG train with huge power was a happy day maker!
Got a nice evening shot of the local power, an SD and a GP, at the west end with a string of empty decks behind them,
Nice EMD's in these pics, including the stored ones in the back!! ...but, what's up in the foreground of the first pic, Fred Flintstone's hangout, lol?
