We have all heard the saying..."A layout is never finished". I swore a year ago that mine was 'finished'. Quite the contrary !! I have been adding things weekly since I 1st said that. Most recently a bunch of regulatory signs. Speed limit...cautionary...cross bucks. A ton of signs ! Again I thought 'ok, I'm done. I should have known better by now...LOL. John Moore recently posted pics of his most recent purchases. In that batch where some 'platform clocks'. I remember when I first had the vision for my layout I wanted similar on my layout. For some reason that plan faded from memory as time went on. I contacted John as to where he got them. I purchased the 3 pack myself There is a house in a local subdivision here that has one in their front yard. I have plans on putting one in 'THE Railroad Park'...by the steam locomotive display. Another will go in the front yard of 'THE Homestead'. Yea..."A layout is never finished" .
I have one Ntrak module and two small modules for another layout that I consider finished but everything else is a work in progress.
My first layout was certainly finished once the last bag of it went into the dumpster. By that standard I hope I never have to finish a layout again.
Finished. I'll die trying but don't think it's going to happen. Mr. George, I like the clocks and have some in storage right along with other buildings that Greg M. built. Hoping to get my layout back up and running so I can add the scenery. Till then. I keep plugging along. Dragging my butt under the train table, twisting my back ouch, ouch, ouch. Pretty sure i need to remove a portion of the not so hidden staging yard. The fun for me has been in building a layout. Not so much fun anymore. I hate remodeling, restoring or basically starting over. Kind of sucks!! Later my friends.
You aren't alone. I've seen a number of layouts I built end up in the dumpster. Did I hear you ask, "Who's the fool for building them in the first place". No fool but I felt like one. I built layouts for friends and that was a mistake. Sorry, to say. Now, don't worry about what you are doing for yourself. Stuff happens and yes layouts eventually find their way to the dump, to the dump, yep...you got it. We need to find a better way to dispose of our layouts. I know a homeless shelter for train layouts. Later
Hi George, I always say my layout is 99% finished. Like you I always find something new to add to the layout, so it will never reach that 100% mark. I like the clock, now where can I add one to my layout? Ops see what I mean
