Hey Everybody! Status update on the Nashville Convention for everyone- Online registration ends on June 1, but we will be having registration onsite starting on Wednesday June 15. Tours are booking up quickly, so if you want to join any of the programs, I recommend you jump on this quickly. The convention APP is up on both the Apple App store and Google Play. We have tested it on iOS and Android, and it works great. Don has enhanced the app so that your personal schedule can be added to the app via a QR code. And if you have a room sale, you can announce it via the app with ease. One of the new additions to the program is the ‘online modeler’s meetup’ at 6:30p. At registration, ask for a second badge to hang from your first one, and add your forum and your handle so people can put a face with the screen name. Bring your best work and show what is possible in N Scale. We have enhanced the contest voting by making it worth your while to come on by, look and vote. For every completed ballot you will receive a coupon for 5 FREE raffle tickets. At the same time, voting for vehicle of the year will happen in the same place. (If you have already voted on line, Carter would appreciate you not duplicating your vote) For those of you planning on ‘rotating’ (selling off or acquiring) some equipment at the convention, room sales, the Swaparama, the live auction, and the silent auction are all on the menu. Great clinic program on Friday and Saturday, and NRail curated layouts will be all available from Weds through the public show on Saturday. In other words, come join your fellow N Scalers and have a great time! Best- George www.nscaleenthusiast.com
Looking forward to it! Only 3 weeks from today! Haven't had any luck finding the app yet in the play store for android but will definitely load it once I track it down.
Hey Conventioneers! We just noticed something on iOS in testing the Convention App- If you have the one from our last convention, it will hold the announcements from that convention when it auto- upgrades to the new one. All it takes to fix is delete the app, and go back to the App Store and download it again. It's free. and that will get you up to the latest information. Still testing the Android version. Best- NSE George
Downloaded the app on my iPhone and everything went smoothly. Looking forward to using it at the convention. Stay safe,
Repeating something I posted in the Weekend Plans thread. I am considering starting a "Road to Nashville" thread to chronicle the auto journey my wife and I will take to get there. Other people will be welcome to chime in with their own experiences. I do not envision being overly detailed and train content would be limited to what we encounter. Mostly about the trip itself. Just a fun, hopefully, way to lead into the convention. I would like your opinions. 1. Good idea or bad idea? 2. If good idea, where should I put the thread: N Scale, Cattle Car or somewhere else? Stay safe,
Mark- I think its a great idea, and if you would let us, I'd like you to do a summation for the NSE magazine. See me at the event if you are interested. I think it would be a good promotion for the forum, and offer a unique perspective to our convention recap. George
Great idea Mark and looking forward to following along. Posting it here should be just fine. See you in Nashville!
What they all said. Looking forward to meeting you at the NNSC. By the way, is anyone driving farther than Mark? I think he "wins"...
As you probably know, we go in a rotation that covers Middle, East, West in rotation, and Reno is up next for the west. That said, we are discussing future plans for the next West convention at the Nashville do, so if you want to make a pitch for it check here: https://www.nscaleenthusiast.com/NSE_Pages/NSE_Convention_Location.htm If you can point us in the right direction to satisfy this list in Phoenix or Tucson, we would love to go there. George
New version of the Android Convention App is up now on the Google Play store and ready for download. Please delete your existing Android version and grab this one. (Apple iPhone users, the iOS version has no reported errors). Thanks for your help testing this thing out. George
Just made the first post in "The Road to Nashville." It is located in The Cattle Car forum. https://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?threads/the-road-to-nashville.144585/#post-1227708 Stay safe,
Mark, great writing and pictures! This is great for those that cannot attend (me!). Since I don't frequent the Cattle Car forum, would you bump this thread so I know you made a new entry there? Old age memory (me again!) would quickly forget as new posts pushes this thread down.
MK, Thank you for your kind words. Hopefully my memory will hold on to your excellent suggestion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Second installment of "The Road to Nashville" is posted in The Cattle Car. https://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?threads/the-road-to-nashville.144585/ Stay safe,
First time going to the convention, I can go Friday or Saturday, any recommendations on which day would be better?
