Speaking of odd and interesting freight cars, I've had this old Atlas (Item 3024) car since the early '70s and have never figured out what its prototype is. I regret "weathering" it with a spray can as a kid.
Moose finally move out of the stone age and purchased modern high-tech uncouplers for da layout! And they work pretty darn well... They're kinda pricey at $ 0.10 each to just have a few laying around da layout, but Mrs Moose figures that there just might be some other uses for the excess...
Sorry Moose, not buying it at all!!!!! What are you going to tell Mrs. Moose next, that gin and vermouth is a good track cleaner???
After deciding that all but one of the 15 turnouts on the latest expansion of my layout are going to be manually controlled with push pull rods, I picked up a batch of DPDT slide switches. Also got some 2mm LED's to show turnout positions on a display panel.
Got a new locomotive today! It’s a fantasy scheme but it will fit perfectly with my soon to be had Kato Morning Daylight cars. This is an Athearn F59PHI with Tsunami Sound. It was on clearance so I just had to get it!
It's the leather headband piece. Got it at Amazon: Donegan PT 3 OptiVISOR Leather Comfort Band: Work Gloves: Amazon.com: Tools & Home Improvement
Thanks. It's amazing how every time I go to Amazon different items are shown. That wasn't there before.
Ordered a pair of maglens googles and sorted through the tools for assembling stuff. And some welcome news for my 72 Birthday.
I got my wanted stock car and now the little beer can model for a oil company coming too!! I can get the link but don't have pictures yet. Atlas N Scale Hudson's Bay Oil & Gas Beercan Tank Car #77354 1323814008 | eBay SOUTHERN RR 40 FT STOCK CAR IN N SCALE NEW ATLAS # 2258 | eBay Already converted the couplers on the stock car and its ready to go the other one will also need to have micro scale couplers. This pretty much finishes the cars for my layout.
Mrs Moose needed to pick up a book at B&N, annnd Mr Moose kinda sorta wandered off to the magazine section...
Just receieved my Kato MyTram Blue articulated tram. Hoping I can get the Red version I ordered as well. Based on instructions, no lights, it light kit available. Don’t know about addition of DCC though. Might work pretty good, on the Levite’s loop I’ve got! Or maybe with the Kato Portram city scene sets.
Nice! I want to order the Christmas one, and am trying to decide between the UP or the BNSF version. I better decide soon before they sell out!
