Last night I did some online research on parking spaces dimensions. Both 'on street' and 'parking lots'.Wooooahhhhhhhh....nothing will fit...as far as scale fit in the spaces I have. So 'Selective Compression' comes into play here. Here is a pic showing "Main Street" with 'Selective Compression' total width (2 1/2") and curbside parking (1/2") and lane widths (3/4") that will be used on THERR... Tight fit but I do think it will work...
You can tell with the spacing between building you are a truck driver. Nice work on the new paving project. Looking spiffy.
You said it George! I can not remember the last time I was able to run trains........... That may change soon as I plot my escape from California to the ranch!
okane, I'll start on this over the weekend. This week I moved the paint carousel to the train room and gathered up all the craft paints I could find. They have been around a while and are heavily separated. The color chart will be a good way to find out which bottles are still usable. The Floguil model paints don't look very hopeful. I'll keep you posted.
The painting crew got a late start today because of the cold weather. BUT....road stripping has begun ! .
The sidewalks, parking lots and road striping is making everything 'come together' nicely. Street lights will be awesome too. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Got some parking lot striping done while the weather was nice yesterday. Now...if my legs...back...and my paint pens hold out I just may get this job done ! .. No Layout work today. The daytime weather dropped another 10 degrees during the day. Besides that...there is a Nascar Race today... .
Be sure you model where a snob with a fancy sports car takes up the last two spots, and causes a screaming match.....
Beautiful day... 53 degrees...slight breeze. Got the church parking lot done. Got 'Highway 69' on the 'Jeans Valley' side of the bridge done. Just waiting on my double highway street lights to come in to install in the median... Going back out in a bit to do 'Highway 68 'that is on the other side of 'THE Homestead' near 'Georgetown'. These new paint pens I bought sure are holding up better then the other ones I bought years ago. .
Yeah George... you have been busy this winter. The layout is looking great. One thing I am sure you have planned in the near future is to add some 'Stop' signs and traffic signals on those busy highways. Otherwise you are going to need a few more body shops and junk yards... not to mention all lawyer offices and hospital beds . Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Yuppppp... I got lots of those..... I am in the process of replacing the really small plastic poles...that break off WAY to easy...with MIG welding wire... Also gonna make my own traffic lights that will attach to the the streetlight poles at the major intersections...
Just remember to do prototypically correct. Plant the Stop signs near the corner... with big trees blocking it from drivers view... and a 'County Mounty' on his Harley hiding across the street. And Yes... It is for real. In my case it was a 'No Right Turns on Red' sign... TWICE! Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
