zdrada, Nice details, the building is looking great! Did the plates come from Gold Metal? What type of parts are they, ship blocks? Thanks, Scott
Scott, Metal discs are screw heads for plastic modellers (tanks and military equipment). I used ABER product: https://www.mojehobby.pl/products/Glowki-srub.html I do not have information about US availability but there should be some alternatives from other producers. Pawel
It is time to finish the project of schratchbuild warehouse - stairs and lamp added: There is also a working person on the other side: There is another one already inside: Upper level crane installed: Full view:
@JoeS - thank you. It is time to work on main baseboard of the diorama. East bank of the river got the grass
It is time to start to prepare inland side of the harbour area. There is some challange to have rails in the road. It is just a beginning of the whole job:
The building looks much more interesting with ads of the real companies (I do have photos to prove their existance in this warehause):
Pawel, Very, very nice! Thanks for the links to some of the products. Like the cobble stones around the rails. Scott
As a side effect of buying some Marklin wagons I got three oldtimers. They were repainted and got signs of one of the companies present in the harbour. Window glazing was added as well.
I got Artitect kit with tug and platform from @John Bartolotto (Thank you again). It is time to work on this model. I will start from floating platform. I have found such a photo: I decided to use the platform just as a starting point with this photo as a inspiration. I plan not only to add wooden deck and small building but hopefully I will try to recreate this preparation for underwater activity scene .... Starting point is to paint the platform. I also found small photoetched weight-house building to be used as a on board shed.
Pawel, Looking good. Cool photo. Like the bollards and timbers. I'm building a 1928 deck scow from scratch. Scott
Next step is to add a deck and crane construction. Originally Artitect provided plastic profile for this but I replaced them with Vietnamese toothpicks made of bamboo (I got some from fellow modeller after his vacations in Asia). Guitar string was used to make crane rope: Supporting ropes for crane were added:
