Excuse the all capital letters -- I'm too lazy to retype this. I LOL'd at this excerpt from a seller listing. If I didn't laugh I'd cry... DUE TO EBAY'S NEW "MANGLED PAYMENTS" PROGRAM, PROCESSING TIME FOR ORDERS WILL / MAY INCREASE DUE TO THE LACK OF CONFIRMED AVAILABILITY OF PAYMENTS TO SELLERS. BEFORE THIS NEW EBAY FORCED ENROLLMENT, YOUR PAYMENT WAS RECEIVED BY SELLERS VIA PAYPAL IN 30 SECONDS OR LESS. UNDER EBAY'S "MANGLED PAYMENTS" PROGRAM, EBAY TAKES DAYS (2-4) TO PROCESS YOUR PAYMENT AND THEN SENDS IT TO SELLER'S BANK ACCOUNT THAT TAKES 3-5 DAYS. THE ENTIRE 30 SECOND PROCESS HAS BEEN "ENHANCED" BY EBAY TO NOW TAKE UP TO NINE (9) DAYS. PLEASE DO NOT PEE ON THE SELLER'S LEG, THIS IS AN EBAY PROGRAM.
NOooooo! Really???!!! Do you think it really needs work with half the loco missing? https://www.ebay.com/itm/C8-N-SCALE...ksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10&redirect=mobile
That's an oldie. Again, trying to use TCA grading. With the shell missing, he has this as "C8". Which is impossible. Sorry. At best this is C3.
This is somewhat like a previous post from an angry Seller who exclaimed at length about his dislike of eBay's sales tax policy. Seems that a listing is a lousy place for a Seller to vent their rage. I'd not want to bid on anything offered by someone who's perpetually pissed off.
Well -- alrighty then https://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-In...824156?hash=item2f4ec25f5c:g:nAYAAOSw8JRftBgA Wolf
Must be that guy who's about to jump in front of the train that added soooo much value to the engine.
Not so much, methinks. The "I will not accept sales from any state that charges sales tax (and some that don't) was just silly. This seller is trying to make a point about how payments take much longer to reach that seller's account than before. Sure, that seller has a choice whether or not to sell on eBay... and said seller is, ahem, pointing out that there may be, let us say, other ways to do business that don't involve "Mangled Payments" (which still makes me laugh).
This is not a case of a seller simply venting... Like many others, the seller has a legitimate beef with eBay policy. Despite what eBay's expectations of sellers who were forced into managed payments (i.e., "mangled payments" to those sellers who have encountered numerous problems with eBay's offshore based payment system) are, what is implied in message is that merchandise will not be shipped in advance of receipt of payment in hand. Regularly mentioned on various e-commerce related sites and on Facebook, despite the current USPS shipping debacle, eBay has been refunding payments to buyers for late shipments, when the venue regularly displays completely unrealistic delivery time frames. Should a buyer file a non-delivery claim through eBay (which rather than suggesting that buyers communicate with the sellers first, the venue encourages buyers to do), sellers on managed payments will immediately find that the funds necessary to cover the entire refund will be held from their future payments until the issue has been settled to the venue's satisfaction. If the package(s) happen to arrive after eBay has issued a refund through its managed payments program, unlike PayPal, there is no manner in which a buyer can remit a replacement payment. There have been numerous reports of unscrupulous buyers keeping both the eBay refund and the merchandise. With no easily accessed US based telephone support available since the start of the Covid 19 epidemic, sellers must rely on their customers' integrity, or, should a shipment fail to arrive in thirty-days, insurance coverage (i.e., in the case of lost Priority Mail shipments, or First Class Package shipments with third party insurance coverage). The managed payments initiative has caused many sellers to simply close their shops, and/or exit eBay for other venues, and/or sell from their own independently hosted e-commerce shops, or retire from online sales entirely. When they are finally forced into eBay's managed payments, you can expect to see many more sellers jump ship. Sellers who choose to remain on eBay can afford to absorb the cost of payment charge backs, returns, and the ever increasing venue fees, and/or have no lengthy e-commerce experience (e.g. part-time sellers with no knowledge of the products that they sell and/or what said products should sell for), and/or have no other venue to sell their products on, and/or do not have their own e-commerce site due to the cost and/or the skill set needed. Since the advent of eBay's managed payments initiative, I have observed that the sales price of products has gone sky high and the range of listed products has been greatly reduced. In eBay's quest to be Amazon like, what we currently seeing are hundreds of thousands of Chinese and foreign listings and regularly relisted, overpriced items that have not sold in months, and in some cases, years. While a few bargains can still be found on eBay, a buyer must have extreme patience and/or a bunch of customized searches in place in order to find them.
I have touched upon this virtually every time these troubles are mentioned- Why don't more folks consider their own web site? Yes, I know it is not for everyone. There are solutions available, (templates, WordPress), which don't require anything near to creating from scratch of your own pages. For mine I went the route of HTML and Cascading Sheets, my decision. Creating a domain and building web site is NOT at all expensive! But you can get fancy and then cost goes up.
One side weathered, one ain't. I have heard of some modellers putting one set of numbers on one side of a passenger car and different set of numbers on the other so that on the flip-flop, it looks like a different train. I can not state that I have heard of someone's doing that on a locomotive. This guy did keep the same number, though. I expect that it might be difficult on a locomotive when you take number boards into consideration. It does appear that he added some details. Some look acceptable; others a bit sloppy.
i dont no but it looks a little creepy to me with a body sticking out the front going around the track.....
