Yes, Pawel it is really Z scale. The produce is made from seeds painted different colors. The figures are Prieser people. They came as a market stall group. I'm not sure if they are still available. I made this about 20 years ago, or so. It was one of my first attempts at making model train scenery. Thanks for your reply. Jim
Awesome! I would just suggest, replace the telegraph poles and give it a premier spot on your layout! Matt
You are reading my mind about the telegraph poles. I haven't looked at this for a long time. The poles are cast white metal and stick out like a sore thumb. They were what was available back then. Thanks for your reply. Jim
More FANTASTIC work Jim. Thanks for sharing. Although I would not recommend placing this on your layout where there is the potential for any water drips or moisture. Those seeds may sprout and instead of having the LADD’S produce stand, you’ll have a forest on your hands.
Thanks, Lance. Wouldn't that be something? I know there are caraway, poppy and sesame in there. I have the makings of an "everything" bagel. I also have other tiny pieces of vegetation and bits of foam in the mix. I have just added a chicken coop (from Artitec) into the diorama. It announces "FRESH EGGS." Jim
Thanks, Joe. Yes, it will be incorporated into the layout. The seasonal produce dealer it represents had his stand in Jackson Square in Roxbury, MA. in the 60's. It was next to the NHRR viaduct that ran along my street (Columbus Avenue.) It is much larger than the actual stand. It did not have a greenhouse or a chicken coop. That is just my imagination. Be well. Jim
