CN 8932(SD70M-2) leading an eastbound ethanol train... Third out on the train was a 100 CN unit. Few minutes later the daily eastbound manifest train M338 also had a 100 CN as its leader. Manchester, IA 11/11/2020 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CP Train 498 had CP 7010 leading yesterday on the Portal Sub. I intercepted it at Baden Siding, south of Kenmare, and chased it on sketchy roads to Minot. Here's first contact , rolling into the hole to meet 2 (2x light engines and CP train 199) at Baden. Oh, did I mention it was snowing hard?
Nice capture Hemi! I live deep within former Family Lines territory and haven't seen one of these in several decades.
There was a healthy string of CSX cars in the Minot CP yard recently, several were in SCL/L&N markings like this.
As seen this afternoon in Cayce, SC, an enormously long NS 191 has just departed Columbia and is on its way west to Macon, GA. The NS line in the foreground once ran 130 miles south to a point near Savannah, GA. Only a 20 Mile stub remains today. The signs inform crews that they're entering signaled territory (Rule 261) and leaving unsignaled territory (Rule 171).
I wonder how many companies are regretting the knee-jerk abandonment of branches they could be using today to build traffic?
How old is this photo? I haven't seen a standard cab since the last batch of them came to Fort Worth for rebuilding.
