These came in the mail today. Annie and Clarabel have the most complex Rapido couplers I have seen. Makes me wonder.... Unfortunately the EZ-Mate couplers are not compatible with the draft gear boxes On the positive side the wheels are metal so it is possible to add pickups for decoders in the coaches. Waiting to see Thomas. Still happy to get the annual Christmas cars from MT. Still waiting for Con-Cor to announce a 2020 car.
Thomas, Annie, Clarabelle... the names I occasionally give my rolling stock can't be printed here !!!
Jupiter. Just bought it this morning and it should arrive soon. 3 more planets and 4 additional cars in this set! This is one of my favorite themed sets since I have been in N scale.
Purchased these two Espee boxcars using the Micro-Trains 31% off coupon and received these 40' containers as free gift.
My latest purchase: a "2D" printer (like, prints on paper with files from computer) to replace my old one that cratered. May not sound like a model railroad related purchase. But I use my printer to print custom decals (white letters made by printing on area painted white...) paper buildings- - mostly mockups of planned kitbash projects. Bashed in Photoshop using scans of kit parts. Images to glue onto layout background (this layout section only 14 inches deep) I didn't show the printer itself or discuss any details- it's pretty ordinary. It's what can be done with it that's the story.
Hi Mike, Yes, there was a coupon code in the October email from Micro-Trains, for 31% off all in stock items. There was also a very nice Thank You note in the Micro Trains News Letter.
My "New" Peco Switch machines still have not arrived and are on backorder. I have cancelled that order and looking for a different solution.
Just ordered the rest of my track through Banzai Hobby. They are having a sale that the products that I am after which their prices are now cheeper than the other two JHS. Thing is with the Covid-19. I am wondering how long it will take the ship to arrive from Japan?
Since this pandemic has hit us, I have not had any trouble with shipments from Japan. They actually seem faster than before. China and Indonesia have been way different.
I got this baggage car from Lowell Smith yesterday. Still have a bunch more on pre-order for the Frisco Meteor and MKT Texas Special. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
A lot of vendors now offer DHL shipment which gets stuff here from Japan in about a week.If it comes by ship that is about 20 days plus time to unload the container and route it plus going through customs or about 30-40 days. DHL is air cargo shipping.
Hopefully they can ship my package through DHL although I didn’t see the option. If not maybe I will receive it in a month or so? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My ICE train actually landed in the US 3 hours before it left Japan, and I had it in my hands 2 days later... That was standard shipping. Everything else has been about 5 or 6 days which is pretty fast coming from Japan. China and Indonesia usually take 2 to 3 weeks but lately have been taking 6 or 7 weeks.
Okay that’s good to know! As for as they have told me (Since they haven’t shipped it yet due to one of the items they wound up short on, I requested that I will pay extra for shipping cost through DHL) it’s being shipped on a ship . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
