Hi folks! The packs of 2 trucks comes with plastic wheels. Are there somwhere metal wheels available? And the diameter of the wheels has to be larger. Closer to the european style. I can't take Märklin-axles because the lenght from tip to tip is different. Any chance?
Hi, Larry Last I checked ZSM still had some 36" Fox valley metal wheel sets. The 33" have been out of stock for awhile. Jim
The märklin wheels are ~.174" (4.4mm) The MTL, AZL, Bowser 33" are .152" (3.86mm) The AZL 36" are .164" (4.15mm)
Hi, Jeff Thanks for this info. Do you know if the Fox Valley replacement 36" metal wheels are also .164" (4.15mm?)
Close enough, I got .162", .165", and .163" measuring one 3 times, but my micrometer is one of those $20 jobs.
All I know is that Marklin wheels are huge! To bad you cant use Marklin wheel sets Larry. I have a large growing collection from all my Marklin conversions I have been doing and would be happy to give them to you. No idea what the heck to do with them as they are just to big for American prototype RR's. Any ideas? Probably sell them on Ebay to get rid of them.
Marklin wheelsets are approximately 38"...draw up a set of 125 ton trucks on Shapeways? Then draw up a NYC 941-H Flexi-Flo to use the 125 ton trucks? http://conrailphotos.thecrhs.org/node/23916 Problem solved Sent from my LM-X410(FG) using Tapatalk
