Here's Atlas 3560 acf teardrop car that's going to painted & weathered for the Turtle Creek Central as a group of 50 cars the NEW YORK & PENNSYLVANIA NY&P bought in 1975 when the east collapsed. The hopper will get NY&P initials and patches. And the Pennsylvania located TCC didn't fair much better with having to downsize and dispose of equipment to survive. The NY&P stepped in and bought 200 various cars mainly grain and coal and a 15 unit group of GP38's along with 22 GP38-2's and several other units becoming NY&P along with the Western half of TCC proper. The rest of the former TCC was picked up by Kalmbach Industries. Also got this TFM 89'6 flat to repaint into NY&P's Canadian subsidiary Ontario Southern Railway colors. Enjoy as i sure will be. More to follow
Yup nice thing about modeling 1979. I get the Conrail patch fleet, plus get to use modeling license on somethings being my road is Proto-Freelanced. So open a whole new world lol
So these arrived today so I can get ready to start on my ex TCC hopper. MbE air hoses as I plan on body mounting MT scale couplers to this car see if I can locate a small package of metal 36" wheels for this or blma 100 ton 36" wheelset trucks. Looking forward to the start of this car in about a week it'll have some body damage also. So any thoughts on if the car should be grey, red or green.
Okay here's a short update found another 3560 covered Hopper that will get stripped to go with my undec 3560. So with the MbE part's that arrived I also got a set of brown true-scale couplers that'll get body mounted along with the cars getting Fox valley models 36" metal wheels. So onto the beginning pics now that I have the stuff to start. So enjoy until next update.
