Russell, that is a really neat picture! Good morning from Sunny and Warm Northeast Ohio! I managed to finish a couple of cars this wee First, a Branchline Trains 40' Boxcar Kit, made to replicate the PRR X43C car with Diagonal Panel Roof, R 3/4 Late Ends and an 8' YSD, the rest of the X43's had 7' Doors. This car is a modernized repainted car by the PC with the roofwalk removed, lowered ladders on the non-brakewheel side. Car was painted with Floquil PC Green and lettered with Mask Island Decals. Car used in general service and was equipped with load restraining devices accounting for the XL classification. Completed another Athearn Genesis ACF 4600CF Covered Hopper Kit, painted with Scalecoat II UP Hopper Gray and lettered with Herald King Decals. These cars were used by the DT&I on the southern end of the railroad and were ordered as the 4600CF Cars were a Plate B car while the 4650CF Cars were Plate C and the Plate B cars could go on sidings where the Plate C cars could not. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
An A-A set of ATSF "cat whiskers" F units approaching the East Hannah Vista depot. This is a view not often seen on my layout; it is an "inside-looking-out" shot where I put the camera on the back wall of the layout, put up a temporary backdrop with hills on the front, and took the picture using a mirror to see the viewfinder of the camera, with a timer. From the mid '80s, a shot on my N Scale road at AM Tower, a Dimi-Trains kit. That's a pair of Minitrix U28Cs on the left and a Kato RS-3 on the right, all custom painted by me, as was the DL&W boxcar. This was back in the day where road names were limited, so Floquil and Northeast Decals were my salvation. Track was Arnold Rapido.
Love that Baldwin DT-6-6-2000. I always wanted one painted up in Santa Fe zebra stripes or a Cotton Belt in the Confederate Gray scheme.
Yes, great work PGE! This is HO Scale? I'm not aware of an N Scale model, but perhaps I missed it. I'm a big fan of the EJ&E (they ran behind our house when I was a kid) and these big Baldwin centercabs are forever etched in my memory.
It's actually the 3D printed DT6-6-2000 from James' Train Parts: https://jamestrainparts.com/shop/locomotive-shells/baldwin-dt6-6-2000/ The shell was painted and decaled by Jeff King. Just watch out for those etched brass handrails!
