We are back for another weekend of modeling. What is on your agenda? I’ll be gone all weekend, leaving early Saturday morning to my favorite train show, the Amherst Society Big E Train Show. When I lived in NH before, I went to this show starting in the mid 1990’s until I moved out west. Even after moving out west, I made the trip back east to the show in 2000, 2002, 2011, 2012 and again with a friend in 2016. It will be fun and I’m excited to spend two days at the show and getting ideas for the next layout and maybe a few good deals for the new layout too. So how about you, what do you have planned? Will I see you at the show? Let us know. We’ll assemble again on Monday the 28th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
I have a small project to work on Friday. I still need to finish the fence for my saw mill. Then sunday I need to make more rock castings to finish the area I’m working on. While the plaster sets up I will be building two stools that I picked up for the train room to make operating more comfortable.
Hopefully my latest order will arrive Saturday and I may be able to install the first bit of track on the alcove layout. Tossing and turning in my head what sort of industries to model so as to generate a good mix of traffic.
Saturday: Edge the front yard - perhaps install a new grille on my Wife's car. (She bumped into someone last month) Sunday - I would like to continue with my control panel turnout indicator project. Y'all have a great weekend - @bremner -- stay safe - and, have a great time in Vegas!! Wolf
The office I work in has a large project due out next week, so I’ll be limited to one day only for honey-do’s and train stuff due to working at least a half day, probably Sunday. Nonetheless, I aggressive plan on powering and routing the last 4 of 16 Tortoises in the staging yard and maybe getting some plaster over cardboard that is already in place. We’ll see!
Well, I ran around picking up parts and pieces and hoped to start laying track on the alcove layout. I had ordered turnouts and they arrived yesterday so I planned on visiting my LHS to pick up the flex track and cork roadbed I needed. I pulled in to see giant “Going out of business “ signs. And no Code 80 flex track. I did pick up a few things. And I’ll stop by later and see what else is going cheap. And I ordered the flex track I need. But, dammit, I wanted my local hobby shop. It’s five minutes from my house. So, no real progress this weekend. I added weights to some boxcars, measured for some leg braces I’ll cut and install tomorrow but looks like it will be a while yet before trains roll. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
