This is a big place. I saw a thread of a guy doing a Canadian HO layout, and meant to go back to and find it, but cannot no matter what I enter under search terms. Anybody know what I am talking about?

Thanks for trying, but not it. It was HO, the pike was in progress, and appeared to resemble Armstrong's "Great Eastern Trunk." This place is REALLY big. Pull your finger out for a second, and you're lost! I tried the search engine, but the wording has to be an exact match or no dice.

You can try to use the power of Google. Just add the site specific indicator to your search criteria: "HO" "Canadian" "Layout" site:trainboard.com

The more keywords you add the more helpful the results are. No guarantee but if you remember any unique phrases or keywords from that thread that can help a lot.

I did, but I got a lot of random Canadian stuff, some interesting, but not that particular post. I am so mad I could stomp on my hat.

I think the guy was from Barre, Ontario. I flicked away for a few moments, then tried to come back to where I thought I was. No soap. He was showing photos of a half finished layout that I found most interesting. Canadian by birth, Texan by US Army, I still have a fondness for the Old Country.

That was a good tip - using Google. Google's algorithm is astounding. I've had a heck of a time in archives finding maps that I know are there - the archive's search engines turn up a lot that's irrelevant - partly I know because I haven't spent a lot of time learning how to narrow down the search in their search engine. Last time I was there the archivist went to Google and the maps came right up.

Mike, I take it site:trainboard.com is the correct Googleze?

Correct. You can further restrict results by using trainboard.com/highball, but since most/all of the content is in that directory tree it's unnecessary. I note that feature so you know you can do that with other sites out there.

    Cheers -Mike

Mmph. Finally found it on another site. That's what I get for trying to multitask. Thank you for your help, though.
