Boxcab - No, the CGW is gone. Even the fill on the east end of town where the CGW gained elevation to go over Hwy 30 and then merge with CNW is gone. About the only thing left is the concrete piers for a CGW bridge on the west end of town.

I forgot to link in the video for the train at Ralston, so here we go.

Back in 1957 or so, my mom, two bothers and I visited Knott's Berry Farm while in the Los Angeles area. I could have ridden around and around the park all day. ;)

Where? Looks like the end of a disused siding, or a spur?

This is off the CSX main at Miamisburg, OH.

Repurposed buildings along the right of way suggest that this was indeed a more extensive spur in the past but seems to be used today as in the photo... an out of the way place to temporarily store things out of the way (the spur extends perhaps another 100 yards).

One day, I found this parked on an old spur in Dayton, Oh near Eastwood Metro Park. Again, it was in an area that previously had been heavily industrialized but now is mostly urban park lands. Still, you can see that this spur gets a bit of TLC despite lack of any railroad businesses.

A teaser or two from the Winter Park Ski Train trip a friend and I took today, Jan 5.

Ski Train, while unloading skiers at Winter Park Ski resort. Amtrak 57 on point, for the time!

Amtrak 175, now on point, back at Union Station, Denver. Hand held shot, using available light, and NO flash!

A couple of changes this year! Train now has a Lounge car, serving snacks and drinks.
Locomotives are back to back. Instead of turning train at Tabernash, the crew ran to Frasier, ran locomotives around
the train. Trailing unit, now the lead unit for return trip. Train was a total of 7 cars: 6 Superliner coaches and 1 Lounge.
Even had the excitement of the train almost hitting a Moose that was on the track, shortly after exiting the East portal, Moffat Tunnel.

Decent trip this time, unlike last trip 2 years ago! Sunny, but cold, compared to cold and snow!
Gotta admit, a full length, hooded Chinchilla coat kept me warm all day!Actually got pretrty nice mid afternoon!
Cold to begin with, and the wind up there did NOT help matters! Overall, an enjoyable day, that I've been waiting at least 3 months for!
