Hi, after many years without the time and space to be a railways modeller, I finally have both. I recently moved house and during the move I found some of my old track and rolling stock.

Welcome to Trainboard. What are your modeling plans and in which scale?

Hi, thanks for the warm welcome. Over the years I've been making plans in my head but never had the time to build something. I spent a lot of time in the Royal Air Force, with having to move every couple of years I could not build anything permanent.
I intend to build an N gauge layout set around British Rail Southern in the late '50s early '60s.
@HOexplorer Yes I am in Southampton England.

Never really got into British trains, but I would love to have a Great Western 0-6-0 tank engine

Welcome aboard, Sally. What was your position in the Royal Air Force? I am an aviation fan as well as railroading.

Since I got a Treble-O-Lectric Derby Sulzer and Baby Deltic and Southern Region coaches in a trade in 2004, I have loved British trains. The red and green coaches are the most beautiful in the whole range. I also got some of the little, four wheel goods wagons.

    Welcome to TB.

Hi Sally, from just outside So'ton. I'm a member of the Gosport MRC (http://www.gosportrailroadgroup.org.uk/index.php). While we're a "railroading" club by name with a large (by UK standards) N-scale modular, HO and On30 US layouts we have OO and N gauge British outline too, including a member-owned portable N-gauge Southern layout set in the late steam/green EMU era. 8)

Welcome to TrainBoard! 50's and 60's sound like an interesting era for modeling British Rail Southern. Good luck with it.

@BNSF FAN Thanks for the welcome. Yes BR Southern was a mix of steam, diesel and electric at that time.

Yes, to us Titanic nuts, Southampton automatically is associated. Same with Belfast. Cherbourg and Queenstown (Cobh), too.
