https://dailygazette.com/article/2018/05/09/end-of-the-line-for-saratoga-north-creek-railway...So much for the ATLAS made SNC RR items, they'll possibly be added to the collectors bin. http://archive.atlasrr.com/Images/NLocomotives/ndash8/0816/40003007.jpg < N-SCALE MODEL. And http://archive.atlasrr.com/Images/HOLocomotives/hodash8/0714/10001806.jpg < HO-SCALE Tom
What strikes me in the report is that the opposition to storage is first listed as "unsightly." NIMBY?
In talking with a friend I found out that Warren County signed a contract with the SARATOGA and NORTH CREEK until 2021! Tom
Not sure why a RR going away or ceasing operations would suddenly make a model a collectors item. If that were the case every fallen flag road would be a collector item, and in that case, I'm sitting on a gold mine, but I'm not
Would check with either iowa pacific or ATLAS about the SARATOGA and NORTH CREEK Railway N-SCALE and ho-SCALE DASH8-40B Locomotive. I think the 1:1 SARATOGA and NORTH CREEK Locomotive is, was a B39-8. Tom
But still doesn't explain why you feel a fallen flag would cause the models to suddenly become collectibles
Only way I can see would be if Atlas discontinued or if people simply felt they were (psychology at play)
As I stated on should ask either Iowa Pacific Holdings or ATLAS about the commisoned SNC Ry DASH8 locomotives in both N and HO SCALE. I also was thinking along the lines of the ATLAS a1g.. Tom
Only reason I can see these becoming "rare collector" items is due to a single run and therefore not many were made.
