I have ordered the 3 car set and am thinking of getting the 5 car extension. I wondered what lighting came with the 3 car and how many of the lighting strips I need to order for all cars? Sorry for multiple posts but I did try Rokuhan support but had no response after 2 weeks.
For plain DC Use the Rokuhan light Boards. A031 for the powered car and A030 for the non powered cars. Pretty simple install. Be careful of the springs for power so the don't fly into oblivion. For DCC they are working on light boards, but no idea when they will be ready. Trey
Thanks Trey As to the springs, i have seen the size...should be a spare one The A030 fits the front and rear and the five car extension set? So that's 8 light boards...not cheap but worth it
We are taking orders for the DCC light boards. They are A059. I don't have them in stock yet, but will start getting them with our next order. You can order them here. http://www.ztrackcenter.com Rob
So, one board now fits all? The A030 and A031 are different lengths. The A059 would be same length as the A031 and only fit in the middle (long) cars, unless that board has a snap-off section to fit the Front/Rear cars.
Woo Hoo!! I've been waiting for this as there was no point getting the extension cars without lights and no point getting the lights if I'd have to buy new decoders when they come out. But, the gauntlet has been thrown down! Z scale will soon have DDC lighted passenger cars! Your move AZL and Micro-Trains!
That's just for the light board. I'm looking to put a mobile decoder in the powered car so I have a DCC controlled Shinkansen. I've had bad luck trying to use wired (as opposed to lightboard replacement) decoders, so I'd like to see a "cut train wires here and solder decoder wires here" diagram at least before gambling another $200 locomotive on my wiring skills. From what I can see from taking the powered car apart, the track power and motor wires are pretty identifiable and accessible, it's the lighting I'm not sure about.
You can't find anything since they are not even finalized yet. From what I found on-line they are slated for July release. The product photos show springs, so again, I think the connections to lights are made through springs as shown in the video I linked.
