From the land of the ice and snow, the midnight sun and where hot ideas flow, welcome back to the station! Yes, as I write this it is snowing...again...hard. Hopefully this is the last of it. Good thing we have those hot ideas to keep us warm. Now lets see what we did.

Saturday: I took a trip to my not so local hobby shop to pick up some items I need for the B&M modules. I really need to come up with a name for them. While there, my dealer told me of an upcoming opportunity to set up the City Job in September. The show that is being put on by my dealer is still in the early stages but it sounds like a good idea so it is on my list. Once I got home, I took full advantage of the warm (mid 60's) temps and started working on the modules in the garage. First was the clear polyurethane on the B&M modules followed by assembly of the third Galesburg 2.0 module. The day was wrapped up with a nice "date night" with Angela.

Sunday: Was domestic duty day. Grocery Shopping, laundry and oh yes, TAXES were in order for the most part. I did however get a bit more done after all the tedious tasks were accomplished. The third Galesburg 2.0 module was worked on and the leg assembly as well as the basic box were constructed. Once warm temperatures return I'll sand down the legs and get them assembled onto the box frame. That will also be the day I put another coat of clear on the B&M modules....one can hope anyway.

So how about you? What did you accomplish this past weekend? Track work, locomotive work, scenery? Whatever you worked on, share it with us. We'll assemble again on Friday the 20th to start the process all over again.

One last programming note: Late night alternative talk radio host, Art Bell, passed away on ironically enough, Friday the 13th. Art Bell was the creator of the popular show Coast to Coast AM where he discussed everything from Bigfoot to the JFK assignation. I enjoyed his show many a late night working third shift in my college years and always enjoyed his hosting abilities. I for one will miss him....

Unlock those Mysteries on the other side Art...

    High Greens!

    Fun weekend, sorta...

Friday I hit a not so local LHS and picked up some fence for a small park I’m am planning on calling foamer Park. The railroad got tired of the trespassing so they are building a park for them. Also picked up two modern boxcars. I am on a long process of modernizing all my equipment. Then I made some trees.

Saturday due to a very late train I was able to paint up another 100 bamboo skewers for more trees.

Sunday the late train came into effect. When. Got home at 11:30 am I ended up sleeping all afternoon. So today I hope to get done what I planned for yesterday. Time to wire a turn table motor, put some plaster cloth on a piece of foam that I am using to make a scrap pile, cut and glue so cork, and wait for the mail man (got a package coming with modeling supplies in it).

Most of the weekend in the layout rooms was spent on re-wiring the mainline back to the occupancy detector. Getting there. Did not get around to installing Tortoise machines as a I wanted. However, I did take a productive detour and checked out all of my UP5 panels w/ the LT1 tester. Also tested a ton of LocoNet cables I had built up. All of the cables turned out fine. 3 of my older UP5 panels... not so fine. Also had a nagging short that kept cropping up on my DB150 Booster. I "finally" located that source, cleared it and all is well. So I have the Digitrx system "currently" operating like it should.

Last week I managed to find one of the old Revell HO scale auto carriers. Being that I have a Chevy dealership on my layout, it was almost a perfect fit. The only problem wit it is that I model the transition era set in 1957, and the tractor has quad headlights which puts it at least in 1958, BUT, the Athearn C series Ford cab over worked perfectly.

I also started working on some of the Woodland Scenic LED lighting. I had picked up their built up mobile home and hooked it up to power to see how it looked. Not bad at all.

I did manage to plant a number of street lights in a town but need another hub to supply power to all of the lights. It has been ordered.

I'd like to comment that Rick has done a fantastic job at bringing life to the GP38-2 #2114 with this sound project.
The speed settings he has programmed in are exactly what I was looking for that I was unable to achieve out of the original Atlas decoder.

    Thanks again Rick!
