VERY cool! I agree with Kurt, about the setting. That mill is an great backdrop. (Might even be an interesting modeling inspiration for someone!) Without the modern vehicles and signals, this could have been taken decades ago!
Great video. There are some neat places along that route to get shots with the feel of past days. TVRM does a great job of keeping the 4501 looking great and the cool mornings/days we have had lately really make the steam and smoke look crisp and stand out against the blue skies.
I love those old mills and they are disappearing. Great background for your video of a great subject.
Ken, not to sidetrack this thread, but Manchester and Nashua, NH had a bunch of abandoned woolen mills from the 1800s that the cities gave developers tax breaks and other incentives to convert to offices, condos, and apartments. To my knowledge, they all are occupied and commanding high dollar. I agree, they are beautiful structures. Candy's neck of the woods has bunch also. Waterbury and Naugatuck, CT come to mind. They all are marvelous structures to model, as Candy has shown us so beautifully.
