Very nice busy-looking scenes coming up Dale! The motorized oil pump should look great in-action. Thanks for posting!

    Hi Yannis,

I had a lot of fun building that bridge except for the 12 stitches I took thanks to my miter saw! The cable-stay bridge has been retired this year and we are doing large pedestal top displays of our products. I built the trays that hold the pieces. Not nearly as fun or challenging to make. I actually wanted to make 8 foot by 8 foot bridge deck sections the would sit on the floor. They would have had our products in them in a 1:1 Scale. The folks in the company were afraid someone would trip stepping up on them. They were only to be step height.

The really good part was that they would have had full size parapet walls on them. Everything would have had to fit in a 14 foot enclosed trailer.

If anyone is crossing I-40 late next week and see a white GMC pulling a black and orange Harley trailer that says Remember the code on the back, honk and wave, that’s me. We will be going through Ok, TX, NM, AZ and NV.Headed West.

I will get a chance to see some big time western railroading!

Hey Kevin! Glad to hear from you again! I hope you are doing well. Yup, after the Oklahoma Tilt-A-Whirle last year I decided to move it to a cleaner environment. It’s now residing in an unused bedroom upstairs. We are making great progress on it. We are doing infrequent OPs sessions on it as I do the scenery.

Hey glad you stopped by! You need to come over to SS soon and run with us.

    Take care buddy!

Just about finished! Some touch-up paint and 001 will be in service at the port! When the SKOL SDs get finished I will have the railroads that service the port represented.

    Hi Tom and Yannis,

Thank you for the kind words!

The switcher is a BLI SW1500. I bought it back before the big move. It has had its share of hiccups along the way but since the track re-alignment, it has done really well.

It is painted to match the scheme of Port of Catoosa #001. I added spark arrestors to the exhaust. It not entirely accurate to the real 001 but does the job for me.

Thanks guys, I hope to be posting up pictures of SKOL diesels soon!

    Dale

My wife has started doing some graffiti for me, she’s way better at it than I am. We had the club modules set up at the Great Train Show in Tulsa last weekend and I ran a unit grain train. It had quite a bit of interest by the public. Most of the cars had some graffiti on them. I guess like it or not, it has become part of the everyday Railroad landscape. We stay with G-Rated graffiti on my trains and stay away from social commentary. This car will get rust and weathering next.

Progress on the POCR, my fried who is painting the 2 SD 40-2 locomotives sent me a picture of the first one last night. Soon I will have all three railroads operating in and around the port represented. I’m very happy with his work.

I have made a ply base for Gavilon Grain East Elevator and started assembling the elevator complex. This portion needs to be weathered. There is still one more bin to install and run piping for.

    Thanks for looking!

I like to looks of that SD40-2 Dale. Good lines on it too. Great details on those elevators. You have an outstanding switching layout coming together there.

First, thank you for the compliments and likes. It is always encouraging to receive them!

In a departure from the conventional, I have repainted the fascia board to reflect the predominant color on the POCR SW1500 switcher. The goal is to put the tugboat logo on the fascia. Here is what it looks like.

It definitely looks different for sure!!!

That's great Dale. Being a complete kind of bridge type, land locked MRR; well we just don't see any tug boats or inter-costal or ocean going vessels around here LOL. Sometimes we are lucky to have a raft make it without dragging bottom. One of these days I want to make it out to Tulsa and see what this is all about. Maybe some QA&P grain cars will make it out there one day, they might even get tagged will there, who knows :).

The great Tom Holley is welcome anytime. After a modest switching session, we could meander out to the edge of the bluff and look at the real thing! Then wander down to Catoosa and watch the BNSF traffic roar through!

BTW, I’ve been through Glenwood on a raft, there was no touching bottom!!! Lol

I think I could come up with a tag....

"The Great" yea right LMAO, thats not me LOL. I'm not even that good. But what I can do is send you a QA&P grain car that may show up on the Port of Catoosa in service. And I would like to have a WAMX grain car that runs around this outfit. I want a WAMK 3 bay Accurail hopper. So which color of car do you want?

    Hey Tom,

You got a deal! But, all the WAMX hoppers are patched from somewhere else. At least what I’ve seen. So, just how dirty do you want it? I think I have some CNW ACF hoppers I can patch over. I also assume you want it tagged?

    Thanks,
    Dale

Yea Dale an ex CNW will be good. I will would like an Accurail or IM 4750cuft covered hopper for the WAMX project. I understand the newer Accurail 4750 hopper are really nice. I gotta get a Accurail 3 bay covered hopper for the one I will be sending you. Oh yes and the WAMX it would be great to have it weathered pretty heavy, and heck yes tagged.
