We’re back from another weekend. How did you do?

Saturday: I got up at my normal time of 5:00 and got ready to go to my favorite hardware store but by 6:30, the freezing rain had started. I went back to bed but got up at 7:00 knowing I could not get any progress on my modules done until the slot car table was done. I figured I would try and heat up the garage with my electric heater and while making breakfast and having tea, the garage would heat up, I’d spend a few hours finishing up the slot car table, then come in and finish the Galesburg Modules. WRONG! My OCD must have been running over time as I spent until 10:00 that night trying to “finish” the slot car table. By 10:00, I was cold, tired, sore and frustrated.

Sunday: It was once again, cold. Unfortunately my motivation was zilch and the sofa and Lucy was my project for the day. Unfortunately for me, the cold short days of winter really cut my productivity down and this was considered a wasted weekend.

So how about you? I certainly hope you all did better than I. Friday will be here before we know it, in fact it arrives on the 16th. At that point, we’ll do it all over again. Until then, don’t forget your sweetheart on Wednesday, yes I’m domesticated now, Have a good week, stay healthy and above all...

    High Greens!

Still building the model, okay, replica of Beauvoir, Jefferson Davis' last home, for the model train museum. Knocked over a partial bottle of Testor's solvent onto a few already cut plastic walls. Managed to save all by very rapid wiping with paper towels, while expressing my displeasure with copious adjectives, nouns, verbs, all in various languages. However, I remember the sage advice of a long since departed manager..."Don't worry about being correct 51% of the time, just learn to recover from your mistakes at least 51% of the time."

Built my 2nd Nn3. Came out much better than my 1st. MT truck runs through this one much smoother.
Final fit and soldering took me about 6 hours. I'm very happy with it so far.

I've started weighting my rolling stock, freight cars for now.

I had an inspiration when my eyes came across my penny jar. So I took a few pennies and weighed them, and I figured an average of about 2 grams per penny. So for literally pennies, I can add weight to my cars with just a bit of hot glue as an added bonus.

They've stopped making pennies up here for a few years now, so I can turn that sleeping investment into a net gain.

And I added some value to my roster...:ROFLMAO:

Fine example of the thriftiness of modelers, and darn site cheaper than lead, titanium, or depleted uranium. (y)

I have been using different size nuts. Use two when possible one over each truck. Was buying for $1 pound when started. One tank car even has a threaded rod I had laying around. Have heard of people getting used wheel weights that have gotten from tire shops. Always good to save money on hidden things. That way have money for important things like track and rolling stock.

    Jim,
Sometimes ya just gotta throw the hands up and surrender.
Nothin’ wrong with a bit of couch time.

Nothing exciting here. I simply added stiffer wire to the Cobalts to throw the unhinged Fastracks N scale #6 turnout points through 1-1/4" of foam and ply.
An annoying discovery was that the fused positive input on a DCS100 should be on the left/first connection of the plug. Now when I put a 1 amp load I can get a output reading.
