Hello All: My name is Jenna and I just created my own account on this forum. I am learning more about this hobby every day. My husband, George Michaels, created an n-scale model train database (on TroveStar) and I (by default) became Marketing Director for this online resource. I am grateful to be able to join this community so I can learn more about this hobby and share what I learn (from visits to train shows and research I do for blog articles, etc.) about it as well. Thanks to the TrainBoard forum folks for maintaining this resource and for having me as a member! Jenna
Welcome Jenna. I'm one of the many folks following George's Trovestar project, and I recently got the link for his MRR blog. We certainly hope you will post your work here. To start the conversation, is there a particular aspect of the hobby you enjoy most?
Hi Jenna, welcome, happy to have you on board for whatever reason. Though learning more about trains, model or 1:1, is probably the best.
Hello Philip: Thanks for the welcome. And glad to hear you are following TroveStar. To answer your question, I most enjoy attending shows and watching the trains go by. I also enjoy watching the whole process behind creating a module. All the detail that can be added is quite fun, especially things like bears peeking in buildings looking for some grub no doubt! Jenna
Fabulous. Are you going to do your own work or add to George's efforts? If you are interested in trying your own thing - and being part of something where you can watch the trains run, I'd suggest T-Trak which is a variant on the N Trak approach but in a smaller footprint. We have a pretty awesome T Trak thread going on here, and many of our members do really great work. several of the posters there (including @arbomambo) have done some very realistic work on their modules. @Jim Wiggin hosts weekly modeling plan and modeling accomplishment threads that will also show you what folks are doing. Looking forward to what you choose to bring to our collective table.
Welcome Aboard Jenna. I had purchased some N scale on Trovestar from your Husband and you were the one that made the arrangements to ship to me-sounds like you also became the Shipping Director I also had started selling recently on Trovestar and he has been a Great help in getting me going along with working out some details on Trovestar. Glad to see you in the forum!
