Kind of like these: These are the Lifelike models. The 5288 and 5289 did not receive the "light package".

And - how could I have left out the Daylights--?? Man -- not cool.

    Thanks,
    Wolf

I seems like everyone has the same favorites. I have a Proto2000 SD9 with the BNSF patch I like a lot, and my Spectrum HHP-8 is a favorite at the club. I'm surprised there are not more steam locomotives. Right now mine is the Santa Fe 3300 series. I have never seen a model of one, so I'm designing it on my computer and possibly 3D printing it. I don't know if that will come to fruition though.

Wow, great switcher collection, Wolf! Please post close-ups of 4628 and the center-cabs or post a link to the thread they're shown in! I don't remember ever seeing those. I have 4632 in the stock LL paint and detail arrangement and may want to eventually detail mine like you have (although I can't find any pics of the real 4632 anywhere).

Depends on the day of the week.

I'm currently drooling over my recently imported Graham Farish Peppercorn A1 "Tornado".

Atlas RS-11 (as seen in my avatar). I have 2 of them and they run smooth as silk. My Intermountain F-units run great too.

I don't think I have taken individual photos of 4628 and 4632 --- I will dig them out and get ya some close ups.

    Thanks again!!

Thanks, Wolf! I see now the center cabs are 44 tonners. Those look great, but I mistook the sunshades as a roof angle reflecting light and thought you might've made or acquired some C415's.

Yeah, I still remember very clearly when I first saw that Santa Fe warbonnet E8 in the case at Nichols Hobby Shop (RIP, Max Nichols, a very kind and patient man).

I had actually bought a few Atlas cars in the previous months (the first being the Norfolk Southern composite gondola) but seeing that loco really did it. I was on a mission to raise the &12.98, which I finally did by November.

    Favorites? Hmmm....
Here's a pair of Grant Eastman resin F45 kits I superdetailed and painted almost 10 years ago. I put hundreds of hours into this pair. I need updated photos....

Next favorite are my A-B-A PA-1's in D&RGW Aspen Leaf livery. They look great, and when they'll stay coupled together, can pull the world.

I have a few of these that I just love because of the super detailing. They are my link to my family history where my mom's side of the family was from Southern Virginia. This is for my smallish layout and NTrak operations with my club.

Excellent, David. I have some C44-9Ws I added detail to but nothing that elaborate.

And I don't want to be misunderstood in my identification of my favorite locos. They are my favorites because of the history and nostalgia I attach to them. I have many newer locos that are fantastic and, as an old N scaler, to see the advancement through the years has been nothing short of incredible. I love 'em all.

My favorite locomotives are the ATSF warbonnet E8/9 & GE C44-9W. Both are well made and run very well.

Those locomotives are not C44-9W's. They are C40-9W's with custom rebuilt cabs. The handrails were built up to be thicker than normal too like on the prototype

It took me 5 years and a lot of lobbying to get Atlas to do that loco. I had to team up with a distributor who believed as I did that it would sell. The original order was increased three times and when final #'s were set the Atlas sales rep said, "I guess we could have done a single as a standard release." Since then they have done many single release locos. TMK non have been cancelled. Now if they would only do the other road #2964 had while on the ATSf.

I'm just getting started but so far mine are atlas SD9s in Bessemer and Lake Erie and in B&O. I NEED a couple more of those in B&LE. I have them on a largish test track as a dcc consist. With 18 70 ton ore cars on behind you can run them so slow you measure speed with a calendar.
