Wow. That is quite a save! But proves once again what can be done, if people get together and just do it!
Taken on the same day last week as my helper photo a few posts back, CSX Q693 rolls past on former ACL track at Enoree, SC.
CP northbound stacks and trilevels cross the Souris river in Minot, ND. Canon T5, 18-55mm @ 18mm, f14, 41 sec.
CN maintains its fleet of 60 or so SD60Fs, and they get around, even if they're getting a bit long in the tooth. And back in 2012-2013, they bought 90 standard-cab SD60s like the one above, all former Oakway/GMTX leasers. Maybe that's where all your SD60s went - us crafty Canucks kidnapped them!
Found SD75M 253 in Auburn Yard yesterday, with a SB "Stinky". Looks like BNSF is getting these repainted into a simplified scheme with no silver frame/trucks??
I like it, cleaner and simpler than the complicated newer schemes, and the the silver frame and trucks just gets filthy anyway!!
That's the locomotive that was seen in the Petticoat Junction TV show I think. Lotsa curves, you bet Even more, when you get To the junction
That's the one, a real movie star. On this day there were even curves in the cab with a young lady firing the locomotive.
Careful Russel, this is a family show, after all. I mean, we would not want to embarrass Candy, would we....
A CSX freight hits the diamond at Chester, SC on 07/08/2000, though with the colorful mix of UP and BN power, you'd never have guessed it. CSX (SAL) and NS (SOU) cross here. Sorry about the old low-rez scan. One of these days I'm going to buy a decent scanner.
Taken 10/07/2017 was this CSX freight at Clinton, SC with about a dozen covered hoppers fresh out of the box. This was joint SCL/CN&L track.
Random photo from deep in my collection. A friend took it somewhere in northern California or Oregon back in about 1995s. I don't recall exactly where.
