The California and Pacific is my "original" railroad. The reason why I put that in quotations, well, it's really more of a helper railroad/branchline? I don't know really.
I digress, they help the Santa Fe with heavy freights and the extra San Diegans (please keep in mind that they are based in San Diego), as well as the Espee with trains through Tehachapi. As well as the trains they assist with, the C&P pulls their own trains:
Sponhaltz Limited: (All Pullman) Los Angeles-Oklahoma City via San Diego (Super Chief of C&P)
Gutierrez Express: (All First Class Chair) LA-OKC via SD (same route; think of it like the El Capitan of the C&P)
Pacific Coaster: (Mixed Train) San Francisco-San Diego (Sleepers for evening trains)

As far as the fleet, at least for the locomotives, are all generations of the F Unit. After 1974, a majority of the F units were sent to be scrapped, and in return, they bought 6 SD40T-2's. The passenger cars still in the works, so this'll be updated.
On the topic of passenger cars, starting in 1954, the evening Pacific Coaster headed Southbound will pick up a transcontinental sleeper or two from the San Francisco Chief (oh yeah, the SFC carries sleepers from the 20th Century and Broadway Limited now) so the passengers will arrive in San Diego in the morning. In return, a C&P sleeper gets sent eastbound on the SFC to be hauled by the 20th Century or Broadway (both are dropped in 1960).

I'm still ironing out the details, so I'll keep you updated.

Oklahoma City couldn't possibly support very long trains. But a few Frisco cars turns them into a joint service, and the only through trains between St. Louis and L.A.

Didn't the Texas Chief run through Oklahoma City? But, you gave me an idea: A Chicago section! Maybe that could be all transferred to the Texas Chief in OKC

Yes, but the Texas Chief had nothing to do with California.

The Santa Fe sort of competed with the Sunset by cutting cars out of first the Southern Route Grand Canyon, then the San Francisco Chief, at Clovis, N.M., and forwarding them to Texas on a nameless train. At Temple the nameless train turned into the California Special to Houston, but you might be more interested in the other nameless connector train that split California cars to Ft. Worth and Dallas out of Brownwood, Texas.

The Santa Fe didn't have a short route from the Southern District Freight Line to Oklahoma City. They had the Clinton & Oklahoma Western out of Pampa, not far from Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle. The Rock Island had track between Oklahoma City and Clinton, Oklahoma, but the Santa Fe never got trackage rights over the Rock on that approx. 90 mile stretch.

I honestly didn't know that (asides from the Texas Chief thing). Maybe the Sponhaltz and Gutierrez should go to Chicago via Oklahoma City, following the tracks of the San Diegan, some southern tracks from San Diego to that Rock Island route to Oklahoma City, and Texas Chief? I don't know, to be honest. I'm still slightly new to the routes of the Santa Fe, Espee and others, so please pardon any hiccups like that.
