It a 1916 Alco, 0-4-0 (the front truck is just for display) This is one of two locos purchased by Al Foglio, the father of the property owner. They were originally tank engines, but because Al didn't like this design, the tanks were scrapped. They both came from Bluffton, Indiana and worked Marble Cliff Quarry. The first engine was a 1918 Alco 0-4-0 that he kept in Milwaulkie, Oregon. It was returned to operational condition and now belongs to Mark Acuff in Portland. The engine shown here was never intended to be restored as major pieces are missing, including the flues. It's been on display here since the early 1980s. Special thanks to Ken Lauderback for the information."
Actually not a problem. Could be restored if desired. Flues can be bought, easily. Flue sheets made, no problem. The only real obstacle is money.
Funny to consider that one of these Lisbon originated streetcars runs now in.... Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, on a few yards of the remnants of original WP&Y RR, after having been regauged to 3' and coupled with a power generator car... Dom
Caught this one last week on the way home from school. At first it was the CSX unit that caught my eye, but then I noticed the doors on the BNSF unit. A rather mixed attempt at completing the BNSF logo. In actuality, the letters spell out BSBNSF.

It goes past so quickly, I had to try a couple of times. Then in a pause, I finally caught a good angle of the SCL emblem.

Thanks Buddy -- a good shot. A lot of southeastern fans wish that CSX would get on board with authentic heritage units instead of $5 stickers. As with NS's heritage units, it'd be eye popping to see SAL's "Citrus" scheme, ACL purple, WM's "Circus" colors, Chessie yellow, and anything C&O, B&O, PM or A&WP/WofA/GA. Oh well, we can dream. Meanwhile CSX must hang on through its CEO's self-inflicted operational wounds.
A crappy video from my morning bike ride. Wish I could have been closer. A CSX unit was leading a BNSF auto rack train south towards Galveston. I have been unable to get out to chase trains this week so this will have to do.

Just a view of Blue Ridge Southern's model-like yard in Canton, NC. That's their office in the (former SOU) blue-roofed building, their compact engine facility is in the background above the unit with its headlight on and Evergreen Packaging's paper mill is to the right.
Here is a photo with #314 on the left January 27, 2013, four and 1/2 years after Hurricane Ike. I don't believe they had any problems from Harvey.
