Would it self destruct 10 seconds after it finished playing? :D

I added an industrial siding to the lower left side of the trackplan.

Actually it is a spur. A siding has switches at both ends. :) I do believe you would be happier with adding an actual siding, somewhere on the layout. Maybe some day a small yard, where excess cars could be stored and switched. Your enjoyment would be increased with such options available.

I originally had a passing siding and removed it. I found that I didn't use it. I also tried to fit in a yard but O gauge is big and takes up a lot of room. I get more fun switching the industries than I would from a yard.

A little late. You aren't the only one with Photobucket Problems. Not sure what's going on there? Thinking new owners and possbily new administration. Also thinking they're in it for the money.

Anyway, sorry to hear about the problems.

Thanks Rick. I've figured out how to post photos directly and no longer need Photobucket. I deleted my account.

Sounds like you worked it out. Posting directly has always been my preferred way. Although, I don't do much of that anymore.
I will be looking forward to your new pictures and postings.

I somehow injured my right arm and wasn't able to work on the layout for a while. My doctor said it could have happened while sleeping. He prescribed a muscle relaxer and heat and that did the trick. While not quite 100% yet the arm is much better and I did some spackling on the hill. This is how it looks right now. I probably won't be able to make much progress for the rest of the month. Our daughter-in-law and two grandkids are arriving this week and staying through next and then out daughter and two grandkids come right after so I'll be otherwise occupied for the rest of the month.

Unfortunately none of them have any interest in trains. Oh well.

Despite the grandkids sounds like and looks like your layout is getting off to a good start.
    Take care of the arm.

    I hate getting old.

No kidding. I never was in a hurry to get here. But it managed to sneak up on me, way too fast!

Thanks, the arm is much better. My aunt, who passed away last year at age 90, would often tell me, "Don't get any older! Stay as you are right now." If I could figure out how to do that I would. :D

Re the Aerotrain and whether the prototype was wyed at terminals: I have seen pictures of the back of the rear car which show a conventional coupler there. This could have been there just for switching purposes. I don't know what type of coupler was found at the rear of the locomotive - does anyone know?

My understanding was there was a horn hook coupler on the front and a rapido on the back. Kidding of course.

The Aerotrain had standard couplers on the front and rear of the train. Most the time they were hidden. Much like the early E and PA units. A story told by Rails said the Aerotrain was working it's way up Cajon Pass. The train stalled and helper units drifted down from the Summit coupling on to the front of the train and pulling it to the top. What happened after it arrived at the Summit remains a mystery.

    Enjoy that train.

Some of those trains had semi-permanent couplings, between the cars, etc. As time went on some were modified, others were not- Which led to early retirements of at least a few....

There has been little work done on the layout due to visitors through August and then Irma. We Irma as an excuse to get away for 2 weeks to visit family and friends in New York. On Sept. 2nd, before we fled there was a train show in Melbourne. I bought a few items there. This operating Railking water tower is placed but not wired yet. I'm not sure if it will stay in this location.

I also bought these flashing crossing lights and 3 IR ITAD devices to activate trackside accessories like the lights and gateman.

While these are sold under the Scaltrax line they can be used with any track.

This picture isn't really new work, just for fun.
