Hello, I would ask if it is not opportune to open a t-gauge forum at trainboard ? There are some railroaders in the scale and the former t-gauge.net forum has crashed and is not online anymore. Anyway it was badly maintained and there was a hudge number of errors. Also I think that David K. Smith loose mood to continue. Anyway there should be place for a t-gauge alternate and why not than on the biggest, mean trainboard ?
I model T-Gauge as well. There is a huge T-Gauge following worldwide. T-Gauge is only 3x smaller than N.
If there was indeed enough interest demonstrated, I am sure our site owner would be very open to considering such a request. So round up your fellow T scalers and.....
It's correctly called TGauge not Tscale. TGauge is practically a trademark name. Since the commercial conception of TGauge in 2007 the term "T" refers to the Gauge of 3mm not 3 scale. 3 times smaller than N Gauge. TGauge was produced in the 1970's and not on a commercial level so the credit today goes to KK Eishindo of Japan for the 3D printed miracles in 2006. The scale of TGauge can vary from 1:400 to 1:500. Most shells and scenery are scaled to 1:450 and 1:480 in TGauge. The major distributors of TGauge (USA,UK,Japan) insist that TGauge is the term used in this forum for consistancy. TScale will most likely be the title on this website because the other forums are titled that way but, the description of the TGauge forum must read "TGauge - 1:480". When you build it, they will come.
Bringing this back from the depths.........A T-gauge forum is much needed here, as offerings have grown and modelling possibilities are growing as well. Please consider this another request!
TGauge Has been around for a long time I think about 2008! I'm in to Z but was thinking of giving T gauge a try. But then forgot about it ! and continued working in Z scale. Even 3D printing pieces would be a challenge. Since printing has some support wire and wall size rules. Smaller then Z scale so much more of a challenge and needed less space the Z scale!
T Gauge is still in its infancy, like was Z scale in the seventies. When we're able to run trains pulled by hood units at a steady 2 scale mph and perform hand-off switching duties, all of that beeing possible in Z, I'll give it a try. Dom
I don't plan to model T yet, but would like to see a forum here to track progress as others help develop it.
