It's Friday! 03-23-12 Weekend Modeling Plans.

It's here again, the Friday Weekend Modeling Plans thread! From being late last week to being early this week, I blame it all on my windshield time. Last week at this time I was on 80 in PA on my way to Illinois and soon I'll be on my way to New Hampshire one last time before I move home.

My modeling plans are to take a last look at Potter Place NH for any last details I may have forgotten and document them as I will not be back to the Granite state until July at the earliest. Saturday I plan to do some railfaning in White River Junction VT and Claremont NH. Sunday, I would like to find a certain piece of the B&M's Weare branch in NH as well as a few remaining B&M structures. A busy weekend for sure. If you see a green Jeep with Illinois plates, stop and say "hi".

So how about you? Layout work? Diesel or steam detail projects? Perhaps some structures? Maybe the lure of warm weather will take you track side? Tell us what you plan to accomplish this weekend, and as always, pictures appreciated. We'll get together Monday the 26th and see how we all did.

i will renumber one of my renumbered kato es44ac. goofed a bit and renumbered the unit to a roadnumber i already have. bummer.
also 4 more renumbered es44ac will receive decoders, mt couplers and final assembly. same for a custom painted sd60m. then i will programm this new batch of engines of totally 12 es44ac and 1 sd60m.
maybe i find some time to work on other projects as well. a few sd45/f40ph need to be stripped. also 15 redbarn kits are waiting....

I'm attending the NMRA's Indian Nation Division LDOPSIG seminar up in Tulsa, and afterwards will be helping out at the Claremore & Southern assisting the out-of-town visitors. Should my track arrive today, I may start the tracklaying Sunday on my new layout.

I will just continue to lay and ballast my track. It takes time because I am crushing up and filtering rocks for the ballast. I get a bonus check this weekend. Hopefully it will be enough to get my new DCC system. If it is enough, I am going to my favorite train store and go shopping!!

Good morning! We are going into the last weekend before our vacation trip to Italy next week, so modeling plans will be limited. Unlike Jules Verne, we don't have 20,000 leaks under the sink, but we've got one, and that's enough to warrant high-priority attention as well. My new mirror-on-a-stick tool that I picked up at the train show last week should help with visibility behind the sink, where the sun don't shine.

Last week, I cut, painted and weathered the first section of cobblestone sheet for Mooseport. I wasn't happy with the weathering, which was a single coat of brushed-on India Ink in alcohol over the basic gray primer. It didn't do enough to darken the space between the cobbles, so I'll be experimenting with different washes. I ordered some additional sections of girder rail, and I might start work on another section of that trackwork, too. My experience (well, mistakes, really) on the earlier section should help make the rest of this much easier.

While cleaning track and actually running trains (!) last week, I came upon a number of new maintenance tasks to add to my backlog. I may have to get systematic about this and start a spreadsheet. Or, maybe I should just print up some letterhead for the Moose Bay Terminal Authority, stick it on a clipboard and do it the old fashioned way, with a pencil. Yeah, I like that...

Very limited fo me as well. If any at all. Gonna be headin to the race track Sunday. Fontana here we come. For loads of NASCAR fun. Can't wait. (Hope the rain holds off 'til after the race).

A busy weekend is in store. Today and tomorrow I have to spruce up my HO modules for a show in Kingston NY on Sunday. Also tomorrow I will be back at the museum working on their layout.

I'm gonna guess it's 50/50 that I will finish the physical vineyard this weekend.
After that I will have to add in more brush and weed elements along the edges and finish the pumphouse and it's area as well, but those things may end up happening over a longer time frame. I want to work on a different part of the layout.

It's already Saturday morning here in New Zealand. I finally have the track I need to complete the layout, so I'll be making a start on that.

I'm going to be buying grapevine brooms, sculptamold and collecting soil in cans to be screened. Almost time for scenery! I also need to plan how I am going to bring the three track into one in the end module, this will be a challenge.
