    Canadian Pacific action, 1958

A friend of mine in the railroad industry sent me this, and it is incredible. It lasts about 20 minutes or so. It's a great video if you like trains - priceless if you have any interest in railroading in the late 50s and especially if you are a CP fan.

This is probably one of the best videos of railroad operations back in the 1940's/50s I have ever seen and there are some incredible scenes in the video. This worth watching all the way through for many reasons including understanding of RR operations, organization, train movements, modeling ideas, prototype information, scenery, lifestyle and just plan trains. Just incredible.

2,721 it just me or did allot of that technology displayed seem even older than 1958. Very cool video and wow, did those employees have a tough life. Makes my former life in the Infantry seem like easy street in comparison.

    Thank you for posting this.

I agree. This is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. Good 'ol National Film Board of Canada!. I probably last saw it as a child in school some 40 - 50 years ago and loved it then too.
How do you recognize the end of a train if it has no caboose?
