Great Northern Railroad Diesel Sign (http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/clt/721078386.html)

Apparently this guy doesn't know what this sign is, or what it was mounted to. Maybe someone can talk him down a bit. :)

Yeah, I could make one that looks like the real thing.. for about ten bucks ;)

I wonder if I could get $600 for my Milwaukee Road "Chestnut Street" sign? LOL

One of the signs off the "tower" there? Probably more in the $100 range? I sold a station sign a few years ago. One of their extruded aluminum variety. $75.

Looks to me to be one of the signboards used by GN in the "Big Sky Blue" era of 1967-70. The GN attached the signboards with the lettering to the handrails of hood units and switchers.

Found these photos on the net at "Rails Northwest" The hearld sign most likely came form this type of application.
