We'll let it go this time........but watch it, pal....... ;) :D

Seriously, I'm happy to hear this move by the House.

I did read one line in that piece about how the majority of Americans don't have access to Amtrak. I don't know about that, but besides making needed repairs to equipment, buying new cars & motive power, etc., the extra funding (in conjunction with certain state governments) could go towards expansion. For example, there is a movement afoot in Oklahoma to have the Heartland Flyer run north of its present terminus of Oklahoma City to, say, Newton, to allow passenger transfer with the Southwest Chief.

This thread could almost be moved to the Amtrak forum, but since it DOES involve railroading, I'm OK with it here.
