Well, since I need "weathered" shots, I'm sure that all I will see this weekend is new, shiny stuff. I'm joking anyway...I'm sure I can find something around here.

Heres a look at a Mainline weathered by time and the elements. This used to be the TAG Mainline. It is now owned by the NS, though never used. This is where the line started it's climb up Lookout Mountain. Several miles from here the line followed a valley and crossed a high bridge. Now, like the railroad itself, those are just memories.

Is that an E-6? I love that slant nose! (They're even better when they have stainless flanks, and adorned with fluted stainless as well....)

Thanks.
Just after Southern bought the TAG there was an excursion to Gadsden behind the 4501 that I rode. Sure does bring back memories.
I'll see if I can find a photo to post on Railimages from that trip.
