They are Kaslo/sar F45 kits from Grant Eastman.
To mitigate the risk of repeating myself, the build is being documented here: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=94331

They'll be BSB, and as faithful to the prototype as I can get, down to the lift rings.

Does anyone have a rooftop shot of a GN-era F45? I know they are scarce--delivered 3 batches in mid '69, merger day was March 1970. I need to know where the beacon, horn and other details are placed.

Ski Train F45s? That's a fantasy scheme I've never thought of. They look like they were born to wear it.

I originally had three undec Kato F40 I was going to do but for some reason I just did not like their looks so when I saw SAR come out with these I just had to sell the F40 for the F45 coupled with the power car, now I just need some passenger cars. I thought about getting some Kato Amtrak superliners and repainting them but have not decided, Any thoughts on what would be best and where to get them.
Thanks for back slaps.

Nobody makes the current Ski Train cars in N; but the ex-NP heavyweigts are likely feasible. Find some old Rivarossi cars, and they could be a close or correct representation.

Awesome!! A Z-scale one in the works soon? I would love to see one in the "Omaha Orange and Pullman Green" scheme for a change of pace, if GN had never switched to the "Big Sky Blue".

Maybe--if Grey One does decide to have me build an EB schemed unit, then you'll get your wish. I doubt I would build one for my fleet, however.
Z scale? Not a chance I have the time and parts to kitbash one. Besides, AZL makes (brass) F45's already.
