1. All challenges close at 12 midnight (24:00 hours) Eastern Standard Time on Monday 3rd December 2007, and will be noted with a "Time's up!" post within the thread.
2. Please use the challenge as a motive to take a new photograph rather than using a photograph that you have taken in the past.
3. Challenges are open to everyone, have fun!!
4. Though not required, commenting on other peoples pictures is encouraged.
5. Only one image per participant so please choose the image carefully.
6. Any posts with images taken before the commencement of the challenge will be deleted.
7. For photos to be eligible they must be taken between the 30th November and 3rd of December 2007.
8. Ensure dates and times on your camera are correct.

I look forward to seeing many contributors, remember this is to encourage all modellers to take a shot of the subject rather than post a photo taken in the past.

SD40T-2's are just SD40-2's with better breathing apparatus.. You can bet I'm in on this one!

My camera is dying a slow death, and while Stanly Clause has gotten me a new one, I am not allowed to have it for 24 more days!
out of twenty shots, this is the best it had left in it.

My camera isn't much better.. Here's the trailing engine in a 3-unit midtrain set assisting with dynamic braking on a PSCX Cherokee Plant load at Tunnel 17:

OK, I hope this works. This is my entry for the contest. Somehow I think this should win just because it is not only a new photo but also a brand new engine built within the 72 hour window. That said if you don't like it my feelings won't be hurt :-) Not everyone like fantasy engines, and I will admit this enginne belongs in a yard not out on the raod but my layout doesn't have a yard. You will just have to imagine this SD40-2RC ( Radio Control equipped ) engine is doing some local work

I had a prototype picture of this SD40 engine and it is one of the few that I planned weathering in advance. It also has a "porch" brake wheel stand on the rear.

Thanks to all who voted for my entry! I am not the least bit put off by a second place finish. To the contrary I am amazed as the contest had a lot of great shots and my engine while being nice was in a bad location for a realistic photo.
Congrats to Flash. I almost voted for your photo but figured that I may as well vote for my own ;-) Ha ha! You won anyway so all is good.
I can't wait for the next contest I can enter.

Wow! Thanks, guys. I just saw this thread on my dial up system. I still can't see all the pictures, but will see it next week at home. I was inspired to make my SD40 by OC Engineer JDs thread on the tunnel motors and the part about the sound reverberating on the rock cut walls. Well, that and his pictures, too.

Thanks to all participants. It really keeps TrainBoard at the top.
