Going to have to be a co-operative effort, I think.

1- Northeast projection of land with large dock.
2- No paved roads?
3- Sand everywhere.
4- Seems to be limited product, possibly only one.
5- Small isolated town.
6- Population - 1739.
7- Next?

Dave.

OK, so I made up #6.
Dave.

I'm stumped.

Is this a lake or the ocean?
Does this coast actually face north, or is it an inlet on a coast that primarily faces some other direction...
I've tried North Africa, horn of Africa, some parts of Europe and the Americas...North Korea. The Caspian Sea.

It's gonna be hard to find somewhere so isolated.

Seems like the industry is oil.

Yeah, I noticed what appear to be pads for production wells on stub end roads.

I know it.. I have searched Africa, SE Asia, Cuba, DR/Haiti, Central America, Gulf Coast of US, next guess is Middle East. It is above the Equator, but man, this is a toughie.

I checked out Tunisia, Libya, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, United Arab Emirates and more. The closest feel I got with the right coloration of land and water with similar buildings was on the coast of Venezuela. Still looking.

Yeah, I felt the same way about Venezuela.

Note that while most of these places have oil, some of them, i.e. Libya and UAE, don't seem to have any railroads.

You people are insane!!
My eyes are buggy from searching, and after miles upon miles of coastline, both lake, river and ocean, nothing. GRR!

NICE WORK!

It's interesting how what looks like it could have been something equatorial is actually off at about 60 deg N or so.

Darn! I was planning to go by train from Winnipeg to Churchill last month for my vacation, but I changed my plans. I would have recognized it for sure.

:tb-cool:Or the Polar Bears! Called the Polar Bear
Capitol of the World. Thanks for the kudos!
The rail yard and dock are supposed to be for
grain exports.
I knew it from searching during an earlier contest;
I was waiting for someone new to solve it.

Great work, Otto! I searched all over the Middle East. Little did I know...
