Definitely a tough one!
My first thought was Edmonton, but that one is east/west. This one is almost north/south. Calgary was another thought. With the distinctive red and blue roofs and the highway near the yard it should be fairly easy. But it isn't.:tb-embarrassed:

I have taken a look, too, and so far concluded that it is in the northern hemisphere, and probably in North America but possibly in Europe. I am not aware of many such large yards in Europe, but the multi-family housing could be European.

Hint: This is only a few miles from an International border.

I scoured along both the U.S./Canada (excluding Alaska) border and the U.S./Mexico border and couldn't find it. This doesn't mean it isn't there, necessarily, but I could also be on the wrong continent.

Looks like an electrified mainline, too....

That red roof east of the yard is yanking at the back of my brain for some reason. A Red Roof Inn possibly. RRI is a US franchise, maybe Canada also, dunno. The cars appear to be long ones, i.e. 50-70 feet. There are two yards end-to-end, a double hump maybe? Being oriented North-South is puzzling, because most major US and Canadian yards are oriented east/west....except maybe one or two on the CN/IC.
I'm clueless, and if I keep talking I'll prove it.......:rn-ooh:

so let's see :
- northern hemisphere
- electric mainline
- close to international border
- yard almost exactly north-south oriented
- this makes the runway (top left) something like a 03/21 or 04/22
- it's not england since the cars drive on the right side
hm...... few miles from an international border...3 miles offshore is an international border as well. guess charlies wants to confuse us even more... ;-)

Good job Scott!! Last night my eyes were killing me from looking at the computer screen for so long, and I never made it past Mongolia. If I keep this up I'll have to convert to G scale

Thanks! Curn. I thought it looked European and after looking through all the Ex. Soviet territories,I figured it had to be on the Russian border. A real challenge!

Congratulations Scott Stutzman. An especially good job to find this one! This one is in a part of the world where you would not expect.
I would think this would have been the hardest one so far.
