You are right Russell. This one is without a doubt South of the North Pole.

I haven't had time for this one. Been putting the miles on the old van Waltzing (driving) Across Texas. Drove through Houston and Dallas yesterday and ended up overnight in San Antonio. The things we sign up for when we agree to put a kid through college.

Judging by the shadows, it appears to be south of the Equator, possibly as much as 30* south Latitude, depending on time of year.

The advanced (and crowded) highway infrastructure, the two apparently abandoned rail spurs, and no evidence of a passenger station imply an industrialized culture with a growing reliance on highway transportation, which leads me to think South America or Australia, rather than Africa.

The double-tracked mains imply a high-traffic division point. Although, why the nine-track yard only supports the eastbound main raises a question.....is the southbound main predominately for passenger, and, if so, where is the station?

Hmmmm?

Havana, Cuba :)

I knew I'd looked at this city in Google Earth before. I think it was during contest #1.

9-track yard? Maybe it's a 1000-mile inspection point, and refueling area... Belen, NM, North Platte, NE, and others are similar installations.
