first thought was south africa...then a little zooming on www.maps.google.com (we're not allowed to install google earth here at the office)

Looks like Sandro nailed it ! I looked at that very place probably four times before. That's a very big yard area!

hard to say. it was just a 'feeling' it could be in south africa.
trains, rather dry ground and lots of places where people digged. since there are many mines in south africa this was my inspiration.

Wow! At this rate, the locations on the earth available for photography will soon be exhausted. Are there any rail yards in Antarctica?
