St. Denis-Relay-Landsdown Signal Bridges

The old B&O signal bridges (3 St. Denis-Relay-Landsdown) are now gone in favor of the (obv.) modern bridges that have taken their place. From what I did see it appears that they were not taking down gracefully.

It looks like the Signal Tower might be the last original thing in the area next to Thomas Viaduct....

I was there when they dropped the signals at Halethorpe. It was anything but graceful. They set the bridge down on the signals, smashing them up nicely. I would have liked to have one of them. Even the small ones are ruined. I have a series of pictures that I will be posting on railimages.com soon. I need to resize them.

Try a proggy called Irfanview, makes it really easy, it's what I use for all my images.

Here are the picture posted on my flickr site. I went to paste them in but they were too large a file. When I used a smaller sized file, the pictures were way too small. You can see the care that CSX used in dropping the bridge down on the signals. What a shame.

CSX is getting ready to drop the signals at Hancock, WV anytime now. They've been replacing signals on the old C&O down around St.Albans/Charleston/Huntington, WV area for a good while, too.
