Paul didn't state what kind of crossing he was looking for. :wink3ed:
So, I'm providing three crossings in one! :p
I'm standing on the BNSF track. In front, it's crossed by the Union Pacific, then a side walk, then College Ave.

Weather turned rainy, and once again CSX has decided to only run at night through Holland this weekend -I think they're trying to avoid me. So this is about the only shot I could come up with - CSX local Y121 bringing cars back to Waverly Yard in Holland Michigan Monday, July 16, 2007.

Well me n the wife decided to make an 80-mile round trip to Effingham for a photo of the IC/PRR crossing, along with a Wally world stop. This is the IC/PRR station there, IC baggage is the building on the left, PRR, right, and tickets n waiting is the middle building

Amtrak still uses the IC/CN side.

Try using a disposable. You will be amazed at the results.
A lot more goes into these photographs than meets the eye:
The photographer being in the right place at the right time, (an art unto itself)
Composing the photo
Knowing how to use his equipment
Taking lots of shots hoping one will be worthy of submission
Once they review the photos recognizing which one is best and posting it
Giving it a title that has a ring to it
My entry to this was going to be similar to to two others but theirs I expect are more interesting and more likely to get the vote. That said the reason I did not post is because I missed the deadline.
I'll post it in the "Ralfan Photos".

Sounds ok to me, but the passager train part. I can't drive anymore and Amtrak is an 80 or 90 mile. Also the wife doesn't get up till she has to on weekends and to her, trains don't count.

Yes, for me passenger / commuter rail might be an advantage now that I can overtly take pictures at South Station and other parts of the T. That said there have been several contest where I simply do not have a chance due to my inability to drive. I don't expect to win, place or show. MY contributions are more for grins and giggles.
Beyond all that the subjects are wide open and puns are permitted.
Sooo a contest labeled "Passengers" would not necessarily require an official passenger train. Still, I do reconize that it can be very challenging and I have had to sit out more than one, (probably to the relief of many). :)
Long before we knew of my visual limitations my father would say:
"It ain't whatcha got. It's wihatcha you do with it that counts"
