I just heard thru another board that CN just donated WC SD-45 #7495 to the Lake Superior Transportation Museum. The question is.... does it stay in WC colors, or restored to NP Black & Yellow?!?!:rolleyes: That would be great to have an NP "cousin" to the GN "Hustle Muscle" that was just restored!! Woo-hoo!!:teeth: I'm keepin' an I on this outcome! Buy the way, what former NP # is this anyway?

Except for a couple F-units in the two-tone green and in black and yellow, there isn't any bigger NP loco's restored, is there?:rolleyes:

I'd love to see that unit back in NP colors. But, back there, WC influence might carry the day. :sad:

Where are the Loewy painted F units? BTW- What's the status of the F unit that was at Mount Rainier? Operable? Wasting away?

The Raymond Loewy painted one is in Spokane at the Spokane County fair grounds. The one up at MRSRR is still running. They use it every once in awhile, although the paint is showing it's age.

If they do NP, I hope they uncover the extra cab windows. By the way did any oter roads have extra windows on there SD45's?

All the pic's I've seen, you can still faintly make out where the extra windows were. Painted over, maybe? :rolleyes:

That would be nice! Making historic restoration easy. I fear plated instead.

I am sure they would have been plated over just like they did to cabooses. I think they did it so they would not have the extra cost of the window glass which is much thicker then regular glass.
