I'll take a break here, from C&O flimsies. It's getting to be a long thread. And I fear folks are becoming bored?

So, on to a predecessor company! How about a few rarities from the Flint & Pere Marquette Railroad? Were all their lines in Michigan? Or did they touch other states? Indiana? Ohio?

Just saw this thread - must have been sleeping at the keyboard the past couple days!
The Flint & Pere Marquette went from Toledo, Ohio, to Flint and Saginaw Michigan; then went west to Ludington. It was one of the three railroads that were consolidated on January 1, 1900 to form the Pere Marquette (the other railroads were the Chicago and West Michigan and the Detroit, Grand Rapids and Western).
The Pere Marquette technically was mainly a Michigan road, but went to Toledo, Ohio; La Crosse and Porter, Indiana; from Porter, Indiana to Chicago over leased track; through Ontario, Canada to St. Thomas, Ontario, and then over to Niagara Falls, Tonawanda, and East Buffalo, N.Y. over leased track.

April 20. Decoding some handwriting can be a challenge.

I'd sure like to see a photo of this loco. Of older wheel arrangements, this one has always held some interest for me.

Be sure to check the C&O flimsy thread. I'd added more there as well. More available!

Neat!

I'm not certain why this wheel arrangement appeals to me so much. Am guessing it's childhood, and having Lionel trains of the same driver count.
