Just got the new book "Chessie System Railroads in West Virginia" compiled by Thomas W. Dixon, Jr. Got a chance to take a look at it yesterday, and it's really good! It's all color photos, and there are some nice fall pictures. There are basiclly three chapters:
Chapter 1 The Chesapeake & Ohio
Chapter 2 The Baltimore & Ohio
Chapter 3 The Western Maryland
If you're like me and a big fan of the Chessie System and West Virginia, you'll really like this book.
Available from the Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society $22.95 (members get 10% off)

Modeling the C&O has Lewis Tunnel on it, Chessie in WV has Big Bend Tunnel on it. I'm trying to figure out what to do with a couple of tunnel portals on my N layout - still not sure if I want to model a specific tunnel or not - I'm even thinking about making my layout "dual use" - B&O and C&O. So if I leave my tunnels generic, I'll be able to do that better. Starting to look into acquiring structures like signal towers - get two of the same same structure, paint one dark gray and light gray for C&O and paint one cream/tan and dark brown to represent the B&O. Then I just put the right one on the layout depending on which road's locomotives and passenger cars I'm running.

How did you get permission from COHS to use the picture? I am working on a new C&O website and want to be able use some of their pix.
