I caught this Amtrak unit on a train this past week... I can't recall seeing an Amtrak unit this dirty:

I think I saw that one rolling through Raleigh last week near the Cargill plant. My first thought when I saw it was "I'm glad I didn't have time to get the camera out to take it's picture." If it's not the same train that I saw, they must have run out of cleaning solution at Amtrak.

You are probably correct, as I have seen it on AMT 80 (The Carolinian) for some time now... still dirty!

Looks like a GE blowing oil out the exaust stack. We had a BNSF C44-9W that looked like this a couple weeks ago.
