Darn, I think I just answered my own question by looking at the past ones and it appears as though they are every two weeks. Foo. I finally get out to fan this weekend, and no contest.

Is there any particular reason we cannot have them weekly? I see none, but maybe I'm just tired...

Well the reason i made them two weekly was because I usually leave the poll open for a week and I wasn't sure if everyone would have the time to take the challenge weekly but I'll open a poll and see what the consensus is.

I know that my son and I would try it every week. He really looks foreward to the next challenge. Although I haven't entered every contest, I have taken pics. I sometimes cannot fit the deadline into my work schedule. But then my work schedule is not your average work schedule..........

Doofus,
If you can take the image and email to let me know you will be late in posting then ill hold the poll

I can try to do that! I just don't want to create a "controversy" by entering late. That was the reason for the "Too Late..." thread. I wanted to display the photo, but I didn't want step on the toes of everyone else who did get entered on time.

Could you allow pictures taken over the previous two weeks? Or for a longer period of time that will allow two weekends for railfanning? You would have to announce the topic further in advance. Each contest would cover a 2-3 week period.
Sort of a "240 Hour Picture Challenge."

Even though I have a hard time meeting the deadline, I like the 72 hour cutoff. It forces you to make the best of what has been given to you at that time.

How about a "live 72hour" and a "In your photo album" contest?:lightbulb:

I like the contest as it is. I'm not suppose to drive anymore, so it's hard for me to get out, unless I find a driver [the wife].
The weather round here hasn't been the best, that doesn't help either.
